Ag Secretary Vilsack Urges Immigration Reform

Speaking to Georgia reporters on a conference call Tuesday, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said farm worker shortages across the nation are calling attention to the need for comprehensive immigration reform. Vilsack urged members of the House to approve comprehensive immigration reform legislation when Congress returns next month from recess.

Fixing ag labor is one of the three key issues Farm Bureau members are talking about to their members of Congress during the congressional recess as part of its Bring the Heat campaign. Passing the farm bill and the waterways bill are the other two key issues.
