Hurley Elected Chair of YF&R Committee

Hurley Takes Over Reigns

Laurens County beef producer, Brandon Hurley, was elected as the new South Carolina Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Committee Chair and assumed his duties during the recent Young Farmer and Rancher Conference that was held February 5-7, 2010 in Charleston.

As chair, Hurley will lead the committee during 2010 and has several goals in mind.  "Legislative involvement, promoting Farm Bureau and the young farmers who are involved, as well as bridging the gap between high school/college and the YF&R Program are just of a few of my goals," Hurley stated.  Hurley has recently received training from the American Farm Bureau to help assure his success and the further development of the program.

Anyone interested in serving on the State Young Farmer and Rancher Committee should contact their local county Farm Bureau President or Faith Lawrimore at flawrimore@scfb.com.
