SC Farm Bureau Federation
The South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation (SCFB) was chartered in 1944 by a group of farmers from around the state who were looking for a voice in the legislature, in Congress and in the corporate world. Today the organization is known as an advocate for agriculture.
SCFB is a non-profit organization open to anyone with an interest in promoting South Carolina agriculture and farmers, and who wants to take advantage of the organizations many valuable member benefits and services.
As the various needs arose through the years, SCFB formed affiliate companies to help meet those needs for SCFB members. The affiliate companies include the South Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company, the SCFB Marketing Association, the SC Farm Bureau Products Program, and PRO-AG, Incorporated. SCFB is also very involved in Carolina Soya, LLC, a soybean crushing facility in Estill, South Carolina.
SCFB Marketing Association
Charged with strengthening markets for South Carolina commodities in order to improve the net income of South Carolina farmers, the SCFB Marketing Association benefits farmers throughout South Carolina and Georgia. The Association owns and operates grain elevators in Anderson (near Greenville)
and Kingstree (near Florence) and provides additional services
in Florence (Coward) County.
The SCFB Marketing Association is also a major business partner
in Carolina Soya, LLC located in Estill. For

SC Farm Bureau Products Program
Tires, batteries, tillage tools, cutting parts, baler twine, and
outdoor power equipment are just some of the high quality items
offered at discounted prices through the Farm Bureau Products
Program. These items and more are available through a statewide

PRO-AG Incorporated
PRO-AG Incorporated is a for-profit, wholly owned subsidiary of
the South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation. PRO-AG provides
assistance to producers in the marketing of their agricultural
products. Its activities include the Apple Sales Desk and
Roadside Marketing Programs.
Under PRO-AG,
SCFB offers fee-based services to assist members with a variety of environmental
and regulatory concerns, including:
• writing and implementing confined livestock plans
• dealing with environmental compliance audits for all types of
farms
• understanding regulatory requirements
• developing lease agreements for hunting and other activities

Farm Fresh Certified Roadside Market
The
SCFB Farm Fresh Roadside Marketing Program is a
select group of Farm Bureau member producers who offer high
quality, locally produced commodities marketed directly to the
consumer at reasonable prices. Markets range from fruits and
vegetables, nursery stock, Christmas trees to specialty items
such as crawfish, pine straw, and pond fishing.
SCFB Mutual Insurance Company
The South Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company was chartered in December of 1955 for the purpose of providing Farm Bureau members with insurance
coverage's that were difficult to obtain and to assist members with safety programs and loss control measures. Today the company serves farmers as well as non-farming families living in South Carolinas rural communities and cities.
The South Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company state office is located in Cayce, South Carolina, near the State Capital. Employees work out of the State Office and in every county of the state to help meet the needs of policyholders. The South Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company is the largest domestic insurance company in South Carolina and the fourth largest overall.
