America's farmers are facing unprecedented challenges. High input cost from diesel fuel to labor to fertilizer make it difficult for our farmers to earn a living and support their own families while they work to produce the food on our tables and the clothes on our backs. South Carolina is now one of the fastest growing states in America, and some of our rural counties are among the fastest growing in the country. That means farmers are often faced with the difficult decision to keep their land in service or to financially support their families by selling to developers. We need to act now to protect our way of life, secure our national food supply and strengthen rural economies. 

The SC Farm Bureau Land Trust is the first in the nation to offer farmers a real choice. We can give them an opportunity to continue to farm the land they love, protect that land from development and continue producing the food and fiber that build the foundation for each and every American household.
