YF&R Awards

Each year, active members in YF&R have the opportunity to compete in several programs that recognize their accomplishments and test their skills. There are three competitions, click the links below to learn more:

Achievement Award

The Achievement Award recognizes Young Farmers & Ranchers who are involved in production agriculture with a majority of their income subject to normal production risks. Judges evaluate competitor's excellence in management, growth and scope of their enterprise and self-initiative that have been displayed throughout the farm or ranch.

Excellence in Agriculture Award

The Excellence in Agriculture Award spotlights young Farm Bureau members who are actively engaged in their community and effectively advocate for agriculture. Competitors are evaluated on their understanding of agricultural issues, leadership experiences and achievement, and their ability to communicate the importance of agriculture. Competitors for this award must not have earned the majority of their income from an owned production agriculture enterprise in the past three years.

Discussion Meet

The YF&R Discussion Meet is an annual competitive leadership development opportunity in which participants build basic discussion skills, develop a keen understanding of important agricultural issues and explore how groups can pool knowledge to reach consensus and solve problems. The competition is designed to simulate a committee meeting where discussion and active participation are expected from each participant. Competitors are evaluated on an exchange of ideas and information on a pre-determined topic.  This competition is open to any Farm Bureau member between the ages of 18-35 that is actively engaged in agriculture.

County/Cluster Activity Award

Active County YF&R Committees and YF&R Clusters have the opportunity to be recognized for their involvement in the community.
